Khelu Itaa

“Khelu Ita” are hand-woven cotton strands soaked in oil and are about a foot long especially used during Mha Puja and Bhai Tika in Tihar festival. These are lit at one end and offered to the one who is worshipped. It is believed that the lights must be kept lit until the puja is completed.
The Offering of the lights signifies the strength of the self, makes one more powerful, and keeps evil away.
