Mha Pujā (म्हपुजा) is an important annual ritual for Newar community in Nepal. This is the only occasion where you celebrate yourself as a being. It is to purify and empower the soul as part of New Year celebrations during the Swanti festival. Kokhaa is an important part of this festival.
Kokhaa is a cotton white thread worn around neck. The thread is ultimately bound to colorful cloth and circled so that there is no end. The round thread is about 2 feet in diameter. The Kokhaa reminds one to be patient and of personal limits. It is like a boundary that one has to keep to maintain respect and trust.
Make this Mha puja special with Kokhaa handmade by my mom from Nepal.
